Jack Wilshere’s Arsenal U18s have game postponed as bus driver travels to wrong city

Arsenal’s U18s side bizarrely saw their Saturday fixture postponed as their team coach reportedly drove to the wrong destination.

The Gunners’ youth side, led by academy graduate Jack Wilshere, are currently 7th in the south section of the U18 Premier League.

An away trip to Brighton was scheduled this weekend as they eyed a fourth win in the league.

However, they will have to wait a little longer to face the Seagulls as reports say the team coach travelled to Bournemouth instead.

Kick-off was due to take place at 12pm and was then delayed by half an hour, before being postponed fully after the error.

Brighton and Bournemouth both sit on the English south coast but the two cities are around 90 miles away from each other.

Arsenal’s U18s will have to wait until next weekend to return to action when they host Norwich at their training centre.

Wilshere is now in his second season in charge of the side, with his first campaign seeing him guide them to the FA Youth Cup final.

talkSPORT reported in October that the 31-year-old was interviewed by MLS side Colorado Rapids to become their new head coach.

Arsenal gave him permission to speak to the club but it is understood that he is happy in north London.

For now though, Wilshere looks set to remain in his current role with Arsenal as he continues the early stages of his coaching career.

The Gunners’ youth side drew 3-3 with Crystal Palace last weekend to take them to 12 points after eight games.
